Mary McCarthy
Mary McCarthy is a Partner at Sofinnova Partners, and a key member of the Industrial Biotech team, where she invests in the most promising early-stage companies developing biotech-enabled sustainable solutions in materials, chemicals, agriculture and food.
Before joining Sofinnova Partners in 2023, Mary was a Partner at Brightlands Venture Partners (BVP), a Dutch Venture Capital impact fund manager where she was fund manager of the BVP Renewable Chemistry Fund investing in chemistry, materials, circular economy and sustainability.
With over 26 years in materials and chemistry, Mary has held various roles in the sector: She was CEO of a start-up developing materials for the circular economy and worked at SABIC for 15 years, where she held various functions in R&D, HR, Change Management, and Corporate Venturing.
