
Karl Collins
Dr. Karl Collins is leading Open Innovation and Ecosystem Development for Bayer’s Crop Science division in Europe. He is also driving the development of Bayer’s global LifeHub open innovation platform, and is responsible for LifeHub Monheim, a flagship innovation and dialogue centre at the Crop Science division’s headquarters in Germany. With the intention of facilitating the growth and impact of the global innovation ecosystem for agriculture, he specifically focuses on corporate startup partnerships, funding, and innovation policy, with the ambition to support the transformation of our food system by providing farmers with the technologies they need to adapt to climate change, restore our environment, and enable food security. Karl is a synthetic chemist by training with an excellent academic background and more than 12 years industrial experience across the pharmaceutical and agricultural science industries as both a researcher and innovation leader. In addition, he has seats on advisory boards in both the academic and innovation sectors.
