Dr. De Filippo is one of the leading experts in the private market industry, with a vast network among companies, alternative asset managers, and investors having led more than 200 equity private placements for his clients. In October 2020 he joined Bank Julius Baer in Switzerland as a Managing Director, to build and lead the Private Capital Markets franchise in Europe and Asia. In this role he is responsible for originating, structuring, and executing M&A transactions, equity and debt private placements and since beginning of 2025 he is globally responsible for Lending.

He was previously at UBS, where during his 14 years he had been the Global Head of both the Direct Investments Group and of the Corporate Finance Group, with teams focusing on originating, and executing transactions in the US, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.

Prior to this, from 1999 to 2006 he worked as an Associate Principal with McKinsey & Company in Zurich, Singapore, and Shanghai where he built and led the High Tech practice serving clients across all of Asia.

Giuseppe holds a Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Pisa and a PhD in Physics from the Nils Bohr Institute of the University of Copenhagen.
