Expert, Climate Change Risk and Adaptation, EUROPEAN ENVIRONMENT AGENCY

Dr Bengü Özge Şerifoğlu is an expert at the European Environment Agency, working on climate risks, adaptation and resilient agri-food systems. She holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, focusing on atmospheric modelling. 

Her recent EEA work examines how climate extremes affect European agriculture, food security, resilience and economic outcomes. She authored the EEA briefings “Building climate-resilient agriculture in Europe: an economic perspective” and “Climate risks to the economy” for SOER 2025.
