Dr Ana Gonzalez Pelaez brings three decades of experience in agriculture, food security and economic development, with a focus on climate risk finance and insurance. She specialises in risk and resilience quantification, including recently co-leading the first EU-wide assessment of climate risks to agriculture and insurance systems for the European Commission and European Investment Bank. She is currently Senior Advisor at Risklayer and serves on the Re-WIRE advisory board of the Food and Land Use Coalition. Her career has spanned academia, the private and public sectors and international multilateral initiatives. She remains closely connected to the family farm in north-west Spain where she grew up.
